Fossil Dig - using Chip Ahoy cookies and a toothpick to dig away the cookie part to get to the chocolate chip. They have to try and dig out the whole chocolate carefully as the palaeontologist do when they did for fossils

3. ongoing chart of the animals - characteristics

4. read, discuss “Dinosaur Museum” big book

4.8.1 explains that an extinct animal is no longer living and give examples of extinct animals.

6.8.2 identifies that threatened animals are in danger of becoming endangered if they are not taken care of.

7.8.2 identifies that endangered animals are in danger of becoming extinct if they are not taken care of.
