My name is Mrs. Nimfa Argamosa Moreto. For many years, I have been teaching little children how to dance and act and the best part of my entire career is seeing my students’ personal growth and self-expression successfully flourish and bloom inside and outside the classroom.

One of the activities I am actively engaged in school is directing a play. Directing plays successfully for sixteen years made me realized an essential skill in directing, which believes in everyone’s capabilities in the entire production. You absolutely will create wonders on stage and the audience discovers this wonder with you. For me it Is truly fulfilling and rewarding as I help make every process and every step a great life skill experience for students, teachers, parents, and staff. In the class I am always encouraging children to do the best they can for themselves and for others. Making them understand that in Theater in order to attain certain goal or goals, collaboration and correct techniques are needed.Inspiring them to remember, “Best work comes with team effort not in isolation, Like “Best performance comes with respect, sacrifice and hard work not just in knowing and in doing”.

I believe that a teacher should uphold the quality of teaching, be responsible to act as a role model and fulfill obligations to construct a learning environment to meet the needs of each student.

Dance and Drama

ES Theater Arts curriculum is designed to provide KG – Gr. 5 students an artistic learning experience through the integration of the two disciplines of arts “Dance and Drama”.  The units of study emphasize on the fundamentals of theater, exploring the arts as a means of human expression and communication, which aims towards the development of individuals’ artistic excellence and intellectual achievement.

Performances

Throughout the year varied productions are available to students to put into practice what they have learned in the class and apply the skills and techniques they’ve developed in the classroom study. This includes the ES cultural show, the all-school musical production, the ES annual Christmas production, the ES Star Kids Discovery, and ES the end of the year show.

Dramatic and dance education like the other discipline of arts are integral part of a child education. Below are the benefits a child gains while participating in the different activities;

  • Help develop effective communication skills. Become more persuasive and expressive in oral and written communication. Less likely to have difficulty in public speaking.
  • Help develop self-confidence, persistence, and increase social tolerance and empathy.
  • Provide an outlet for self-expression and artistic capability.
  • Stimulate and enhance creativity, originality, and aesthetic ability.
  • Develop refined, higher level of thinking and problem solving skills.
  • Help build self-control and discipline.
  • Effectively develop an “Educated and Cultured” and “Fun and Loving” individual.
  • Support an individual to learn to work together; to be collaborative, and become a dynamic team oriented person both as a follower and a leader.
  • Promote active learning and reinforce the rest of the school curriculum.
  • Provide fun and enjoyable activities.
  • Above all, Dance and Drama can help build responsible global citizens.

“It wasn’t just dancing and it wasn’t just acting, it is a life skill training that will serve our students better to meet the challenges of the modern world today and the future"
