As part of the philosophy of educating the "whole person", the IB Diploma requires that students actively involve themselves in activities of a Creative, Action and service (CAS) nature. Participation in activities such a community service, drama, sports, student government, peer tutoring, social functions, cultural events, fund raising and special interest clubs would satisfy this requirement. R.I.S. has many opportunities for the student.
 
The time requirement is not so high as to interfere with a students academic pogress - 150 hours over the 2 years.
 
Complements academic disciplines of the curriculum.
