Summary of

The RIS Acceptable Use of Technology Policies (AUP)

This Acceptable Use Policies of RIS outline the school's guidelines regarding the proper use of the school’s computers, software, Internet and other technology resources.

RIS has developed its technology resources greatly over the past several years with the intention of supporting and enhancing our students’ overall education.

Please take a moment to read through the school's two AUPs. It is important that you understand this policy and its significance for education at Ruamrudee International School.

AUP for Students

Full Policy

Main Points:

1. All students who follow the guidelines have access to the school’s technology resources (i.e. computers, Internet, email).

2. When in doubt, students must ask a teacher.

3. Students must not break the Code of Conduct (section 8 of the AUP), rules of the school or the laws of Thailand.

4. Students can lose their rights to the school’s technology resources.

5. RIS makes no guarantee for the Internet service.

6. Students use the Internet at their own risk.

7. Students must protect their own security (i.e. do not send out personal information to strangers).

8. The school reserves the right to inspect students’ files and folders.

9. Students must not commit vandalism (i.e. destroying people’s files, damaging computers, spreading viruses).

10. Do not disrupt the network (i.e. playing Internet games, downloading files).

for Faculty, Staff and Administrators

Full Policy

Main points:
1. RIS will provide, develop and maintain a variety of technology resources.

2. The Technology Integration Committee is responsible for reviewing this policy.

3. All faculty and staff have access to the technology resources

4. There are certain activities that the faculty and staff may not do with the school's technology resources.

5. Privacy regarding the use of the school's technology resources is not a right, but a privilege. However, the school will work to ensure a secure system.

6. Piracy and vandalism are not allowed

7. There is a procedure for filing complaints and for contesting actions. This requires some action by the Administrative Council.

8. Each section and department of the school has certain responsibilities.
