RIS Scholarship Program

RIS is seeking exceptional students in the areas of academics, athletics and the visual and performing arts, as well as students from unrepresented nations. Scholarships are available to students new to RIS for the 2017-2018 academic year.

Scholarships will be based on the following criteria:

For Grade 6 or Above:

Academics

  • Grade point average of 3.75 or above and exceptional standardized test results
  • Evidence of academic excellence through awards / competitions
  • Evidence of leadership roles and community service
  • Qualities of character and maturity supported by letters of recommendation
  • Scholarship offer will be based on strength of student profile

Visual and Performing Arts

  • Grade point average of 3.25 or above and above average standardized test results
  • Evidence of artistic excellence through submission of video performance, portfolio, awards, news releases, etc.
  • Qualities of character and maturity supported by letters of recommendation
  • Scholarship offer will be based on strength of student profile

Athletics

  • Grade point average of 3.25 and above average standardized test results
  • Evidence of athletic excellence through attainment of national performance levels of the top 5% or equivalent in a given sport
  • Qualities of character and maturity supported by letters of recommendation
  • Scholarship offer will be based on strength of student profile

For Students from Unrepresented Nations: All Grade Levels

Diversity

  • Grade point average of 3.00 or above (assessed at the end of 1st year at RIS)
  • Qualities of character and maturity supported by letters of recommendation
  • A scholarship of 50% of the RIS tuition fee (Campus Development Fee waived) for the first year and 30% thereafter for all students from unrepresented nations

Application Procedure

  • 1.Submit the application on line https://rism.openapply.com/apply/
  • 2.Submit three confidential letters of recommendation (2 teachers/1 administrator)
  • 3.Submit an essay on future aspirations and goals (500 word maximum)
  • 4.Attend selection interview/audition
  • 5.Sit entrance exam

Conditions:

In all cases a student may lose his/her scholarship for the following academic year if the stated requirements are not maintained. Serious breaches of discipline will result in immediate termination of financial aid for the remainder of the academic year.
