3. Flip Flop…For Little Pupil : “Flip Flops…for Little Pupils” is one of the
activities that FORDEC has continually run to fulfill the poor children’s need.
The foundation buys and/or asks for donation of shoes from many generous people
to distribute to the poor children in suburb and the border around Srakaew,
Surin, Burerum, Chieng Mai, Chieng Rai, Nan, Srisaket, Nakorn Rajchasrima,
Samutprakarn, Khon Kaen, and Bangkok. FORDEC has already given slippers to the
children about 40,000 pairs. After the children got shoes, they are happier.
Previously, the children had to work without shoes for about 2-3 kilometers to
school. They always got a little accident with their feet that can cause the
disease infection. The children wish to have the beautiful and colorful
slippers. The children are allowed to wear slippers to school.
This activity has been performed since 2000 – present. There are many children
waiting for donated shoes that can be create a smile on them.
4. Play Ground…. for a little child : FORDEC generates this activity because we
realize of the importance of the recreation and relaxation towards the poor
children. To play with friends in the proper playground can help develop the
children’s growth and increase the physical and mental ability of the children.
The playground can also be the teaching tool for the children. The foundation
tried to provide all decent equipments like toys to the playground. We
emphasized on the playground at Child Development Center and Pre-school Day Care
Center in the local temple. Whereas the local schools in suburb that lack the
sport equipments, the foundation helped them by buying and the donation of sport
equipments, for example, football, volleyball, basketball, table-tennis, and
badminton. This is part of the activity named “Second Hand Sport Equipments….for
Poor Children” The objective of this activity is to enhance the physical,
mental, social, and intellectual abilities of the children. This is also to let
the relevant organizations realize of the usefulness of exercise. If the
children pay attention to their exercise, they will be away from drugs
addiction. FORDEC has performed this activity since 1998 – present.
5. Sharing's Toy…. to kids :
6. Sharing 's love….to children : FORDEC and the generous sponsors take part in
the activity of “Sharing’s love...to Kids” by donating things like dolls, toys,
clothing, shoes, and stationary or educational equipments such as pencils, pens,
rubbers, rulers, etc. They are including all old and new things and foods. We
also perform a special activity in special occasion like birthday party, New
year party, anniversary party, valentine party, and children day party or any
day that the sponsor wants to have a party with children.
Since the foundation was open in 1998 until now, we continually operate this
activity for children. This activity makes the children and all participants
happy and joyful. FORDEC generates this activity because we realize of the
importance of the library towards the children.
7. Bicycle…for poor student…to Attend School : FORDEC has set the activity named
“Bicycle…for poor students…to Attend School” in order to fulfill the children’s
need. They have to work for about 3 kilometers to school everyday. Last 2 years,
FORDEC provided 6,000 bicycles which worth about 7.6 million baht to children in
164 schools at Chieng Mai, Chieng Rai, Nan, Mae Hong Sorn, Chaiyapoom, Surin,
Burerum, Srisaket, Srakaew, Nongkai, Chonburi, Nakorn Rajchasrima, Singburi,
Lopburi, and Bangkok. Japanese government donated 95% of the budget and another
5% was from generous people. There are many advantages from this activity, for
example, save the expenses of children’s family, learn to be responsible for
public things, how to fix the bicycle, learn to share with friends, arrive
school in time, can concentrate more on lesson, and it is a good way of daily
exercise.
The bicycles donated in this activity are actually for the children that have to
walk for a long distance especially those in Bang La Mung Day Care Center,
Chonburi. The bicycles donated are not enough for all 165 children in 6
buildings, so we try to find more for them. After this activity, we found that
the children have a better mental health.
Now there are over 17,956 students from 1,219 schools in 15 provinces waiting
for donated bicycles.

9. Milk for a little child : "Milk" is only and a necessary food for the baby
especially in time of early childhood. It has all the quality lactate, mineral
and nutrient food for physical and mental grow of the child’s and it is very
critical for human survival during that stage.
FORDEC aware of this great importance and tried it best to answer to these needs
by regularly provide milk to all needy babies. There are currently about 1,200
children in 4 different places in Bangkok and in rural areas need a regular
supply of milk. Many of them are orphaned some from broken family and poor
family lived with their relatives or grand parents who did not have enough
income to raise them properly. Many of their parents are daily-workers with a
meager income not enough to buy milk for their children. FORDEC is fully aware
of the fact that the family or society should not neglect all children because
the child is the future of the world. We seek contribution from every one to
help those children grow.
10. "Sponsorship to Improve a Child's Future"
11. Study Equipment…. for poor student : The foundation is set for giving the
opportunity for the poor children who are well behaved and intend to learn but
have no money. The objectives of FORDEC are to reduce the difficulties of the
poor children and their family, parents, or guardians, to create the good morale
so that they can realize of the ethics and good deed. There are a large number
of the poor children waiting for help especially during the beginning of the new
semester. The children are from all over the country, Bangkok and suburb. This
is to increase the living standard of the children. Many children have problems
in study because they lack the educational equipments and uniform such as Boy
Scout uniform and sport wear, and shoes. They also have some problem about
getting along with their friends because their friends are disgusted them.
After the foundation has performed this activity since 1999 till now, the
children are happy, self-confident, well behaved, and have more hope. This is
because they are under FORDEC conditions that the children must report to the
foundation, respect to the adults, and be thankful to FORDEC.
The foundation has everyone’s profiles. The information in this profile can be a
good source for consideration about the future helps. The importance is that we
hope to reduce the task and difficulties of the children family so that the
children can be self-reliance and be better off in the future.

Lunch Program & Agriculture for
lunch “Lunch for a beloved child”
“Food” is one of the four essential ingredients for life, upon which we humans
depend on for life. “Lunch for a beloved child” is one of FORDEC’S programs for
the development of a child. This program has been initiated by FORDEC to
alleviate the necessity of hungry children to have a good lunch for those
students lacking enough nutritious food to sustain them, which the government in
many cases cannot supply. From statistics it was found that only about 30% of
children in rural, remote areas, receive such assistance, since the government
has not enough budget for this. Those still awaiting lunch program assistance
everywhere are found to consist of great numbers.
FORDEC Foundation has been huge promoting this program since the 2000 school
year and has supported the program with a budget, assisting several thousand
children in four provinces, Buriram, Srisaket, Sakeo, and Suran. Besides this
there are several hundred children under the sponsorship of the foundation who
are receiving such assistance. These children are in various provinces of the
country such as Chiangmai, Nan, Uttaradit, Angtong, Kalasin, Khon Kaen,
Chaiyapoom, Nakorn Rachasima, Nakorn Sritammarat, Samutprakarn and Bangkok.
The lunch program is just a part of the sponsorship program, whose title is:
Promoting Education for Building the Future. These children also receive overall
help in every part of education. The children not only gain normal weight, but
also better learning ability, better health, and regular school attendance.
In order to carry out these programs, the FORDEC foundation needs a lot of fund
and FORDEC would like to appeal to all concerned for more contribution to
support the program.
Education & Development for poor student Program“Sponsorship to Improve a
Child’s Future”
Children are the nation’s future human resources. Perhaps the most important
means in developing them to become good citizens is primarily via good education
to help them develop physically, mentally, emotionally and socially, all at the
same time. This will help them to grow up into quality adulthood and contribute
in developing the nation in turn. All social sectors must be made aware of these
priorities and collaborate in support and in prevention of all obstacles before
it’s too late.
One of FORDEC’s most important missions is to uphold a vision of education for
needy children, to stay in school. FORDEC also looks for sponsors for those kids
to promote the program “Sponsorship for Education”… helping build young people’s
future. The program will give continuing assistance to needy children for their
education. It is person to person sponsorship program with only 25 baht per day,
or 750 baht per month or 9,000 baht per year. You alone, or you as part of one
organization or company where all staff join in to sponsor such a dream of a
bright future for one child for any length of time, will be fully appreciated.
There are no time limitations or other commitments to the child or family.
Past results of this program have shown that such sponsor-child relationship,
rather than alienate the child from its own family, have motivated the child to
attend higher education and helped even encouraged the family to love the child
more and overcome other obstacles. Currently there are more than 2,000 children,
who have been carefully screened and are awaiting sponsorship. Those children
are all over in the upcountry such as Chiangmai, Chiangrai, Nan, Nakorn Panom,
Surin Burirum, Srakaew, Samutprakarn and many others along with Bangkok.
Needless to say they are all from very poor families. Some are orphans of aids
victim, orphans from separated parents and some are just left with grandparents
or relatives. Some fortunate ones are living at program centers and only go home
once a month because their homes are in the mountains, remote and lacking all
necessary resources. Most parents are laborers working daily wages whose overall
earnings are below the poverty line. Those children’s future lie totally in the
hands of kind hearted adults in our society. They place their hope in FORDEC and
your assistance.
The program for education and development of the deprived children requires
FORDEC foundation to offer special assistance before the commencement of each
educational year. There will be parents, young people come to the center or hand
in letters plea for help in tuition fees ranging from pre-school to post
graduate studies. Those fees go to all types of educational institutions such as
centers, schools, college, institute and universities etc. The needs for
education expenses range from a few hundred baht up to over 30,000 in each case.
Besides feeds, they also lack materials to go to school such as clothing,
uniforms, books, pens, school bags, shoes etc. FORDEC foundation has been
spending almost one million baht for such need since 2003 till today.
“Welfare and development…for Elderly people program”
1. This program is set up to take care of poor and homeless elderly people who
are abandoned by the family and are incapable of taking care of themselves.
2. To assist the aged people who still live with families but in need of
medical care or physical therapy but are too poor to afford the professional
services needed.
3. To take away some of the burden of poor families who can not afford to take
care of aged parents and to prevent some social illnesses such as roaming
homeless elderly people. Such assistance will keep them reasonably decent and
happy in our society.
4. Such will be an act of gratitude towards the old who once contributed to our
society. Such a program will help alleviate their concern when they get too old
to make a living and knowing that the government can not reach out to look after
all of them.
In the past, FORDEC Foundation has offered help to the aged in the following
areas:
1. In Samutprakarn Province, 9 cases via Channukroe Institute.
2. In Nakorn Rachasrima, 56 families and over 100 families in the Metropolitan
Bangkok.
3. Help provide several types of equipments for phi seal therapy at 2 centers
for the elderly in Prae province. There are about 3,500 members who come
regularly for services. These 2 centers are located in Song district and
Nongmuangkai district.
Currently there are about over 150 families in Chaiyaphum province awaiting
help from FORDEC foundation. Some old couples live alone, some are lucky to live
with children or grandchildren. But 95% of them are under the poverty line,
lacking even the most basic needs for survival such as “Food”. Most are
paralyzed, suffering undernourishment, high blood pressure, malfunction of
bladder etc. Some 2 years ago, a community leader asked FORDEC to help transport
an amount of rice donated to those poor families, FORDEC immediately responded
to the request.
“School Library”
The Foundation of Rehabilitation and Development of Children and Family (FORDEC)
has established the program in recognition of the importance of a community
library in the creation of the education and intellectual wee-being of the
children. It will help instill the love of reading books, help entertaining the
children in their spare time. FORDEC requests donations of books from kind
donors and help supply books and other educational materials to various
libraries all over the county with dictionaries, text books, school learning
equipments, media for education such as TV sets, video, VCDs, radio, tapes etc.
For example, we received over 40,000 copies of the royal writing called Phra
Mahachanok (cartoon version). FORDEC has distributed those books to over 2,500
provincial schools in Surin, Buriram, Srisaket, Mukdaharn, Nakornpanom,
Chiangmai, Chiangrai, Nan, Srakaew, Kalasin Nokornsirthammarat, Cholburi,
Uttaradit, Tak, Sukhotai and Bangkok
Moreover, FORDEC has been assisting the following school libraries:
Santowitthaya school in Utradit Province and Sulao Klongchan School in Bangkok.
Also school libraries of Tubtin Siam 05 in Srakaew Province (a royal sponsored
school by Her Royal Highness Princess Chulapornwalailuck), Library of the
Foundation of Srichumpabarn Sisters at Dindaeng in Bangkok, the School library
of Kirikarn at Kaokaew village, Lansapha district in Nakornrajsima province, the
Community Library for the program for education and development for children in
Chaiyaphum province and at Maechaem district in Chiangmai province etc. However,
there are still more needs for books, text books and other educational materials
and mediums for those remote areas at the border between Thailand and Cambodia.
Good books for the children are much in needs amongst those families who are
mostly living under the standard mean.
