The World as Laboratory: ES Presents Science Showcase in February

All year, Elementary School students have been engaging in scientific inquiry and flexing their critical thinking skills--both inside the lab and classroom and in the natural world. This month, Grade 1- 5 students will be sharing their learning at the annual ES Science Showcase, scheduled for Friday the 24th, from 9:45am - 11:00am, in Godbout Hall. Parents, friends and other visitors are invited to attend the grand exhibition and learn more about the importance of science at RIS.

Throughout the morning, ES students will be presenting what they've learned. Visitors can anticipate learning about the lifecycle of a mealworm, the anatomy of a mouse, the logistics of germinating seeds hydroponically, and more marvels of the natural world.

In addition to experiments and demonstrations, the exhibition with feature student art and a musical performance.

"The exhibition provides an excellent opportunity for children to reflect on their learning, and present on it, in a meaningful way, before a wider audience," said Randy Merker, ES Science and Math Coach. "The event is also a fantastic way to encourage our children to feel comfortable with public speaking and to gain a sense of ownership and pride in their learning. Students are fully involved in the exhibition."

Come learn with us on February 24th!
