Kitisit (Por Por) Thangsumphant, a 5 year-old Pre-K student here at RIS was invited to perform as a surprise guest conductor with the Siam Sinfonietta Orchestra (a 2012 Symphony Orchestra World Championship winner at the Summa Cum Laude Festival in Vienna).
During semester two, the Elementary School began exploring the idea of learning portfolios as a tool for students and teachers to collect and reflect upon educational experiences and the process of learning at RIS. The Technology Coordinator, Tim Pettine, approached the early years teachers with a strategy involving blogs and the iPad to capture visual evidence of student learning and then post that evidence to each learner’s individual blog.
On May 9th all High School Drama and Theatre Technology students joined together for this semesters’ Drama Day. The day was divided into technical rehearsals and an early afternoon of performances; students worked on final details for an audience of Elementary, Middle and High School RIS students, staff and family.
Out of 11 BISAC Tournaments, RIS earned Championship Trophies & Medals in U13 Girls Volleyball, U17 Girls Softball & Badminton, Silver Medals in U15 Girls Volleyball, U17 Boys Badminton, Bronze Medals in U17 Boys Softball, U15 Boys Volleyball, Mixed Golf; as well as two 4th place finishes in Girl's T-Ball & U13 Boys Volleyball.

Four RIS students spent a day at Fenn Designers where they were introduced to the philosophies and processes involved in design, after which they split into groups to learn more about "Conceptualizing a Project" and "IT in the World of Design".
On April 10th, 14 students from Fr. Ray’s Orphanage and Fr. Peter Pattarapong came to visit the Canvas of Hearts Club at RIS. The members warmly welcomed the students to RIS with hot doughnuts and icebreaker games.

In an attempt to raise public awareness about border patrol police, Weerawaroon (Queen) Mavichak, one of our grade 11 students, produced a video to show the hardships these officers face. In the clip, named "The Life of Thai Border Patrol Police: What You Might Not Know," which she uploaded on her YouTube channel.
The HS Habitat for Humanity took place from March 14th - March 17th in Rayong, Thailand. There were a total of 70 students - 55 RIS students and 15 students from the International School of Yangoon (ISY), as well as a total of 7 chaperones. A total of 3 houses were rehabilitated and 3 houses were repaired in the course of the 2 days. A total of 300,000 baht was fundraised since the beginning of the school year for this project.
