At RIS, we understand the importance of balancing a rigorous academic program with the social and emotional needs of our students. Our student-centered program is designed to address the academic, social and physical needs of growing adolescents.
Beyond our instructional program, we have summarized those characteristics by which we prepare our future citizens in our Expected School-wide Learning Results (ESLRs). These elements include developing citizens who are English literate, complex thinkers, caring citizens, healthy individuals who are able to collaborate effectively and become life-long learners. RIS has a wonderful Extended Day Program (EDP) which is our After School Activities program. Many teachers contribute their talents and time toward clubs, sports, music and other learning programs. Traditionally elementary activities have been expanded to include Middle School students as well. An online registration form is available here on the website and starts a couple weeks into the semester. Always popular are activities like swimming, soccer, chess and dance.
At RIS, we have a comprehensive English Language Development Program (ELDP) program. From grade 6 to grade 8, our program is designed to assist our students in developing their academic English skills. Aside from our specialists, all of our teachers are required to be trained and prepared to assist and support our English language learners in their mastery of curriculum.
Our special needs program at RIS is second to none in Bangkok. Our faculty, which includes two psychologists, provides push-in and pull-out assistance to those students who need a leg up with their academic endeavors.
With almost 20 years' experience in education, most in international schools, I know that when parents consider working and living overseas, the most important decision for them is the schooling that their children will receive.
