Our community of students join us from 25 different nationalities and total nearly 1300 students ages 3 to 12th Grade. The multicultural student body and their pursuit of artistic, athletic, and academic excellence are the heart of RIS's success. Our teachers represent 16 different countries and possess a deep passion for guiding our RIS students to the highest level of learning. Over 70% of our instructional team hold advanced degrees. Our staff's greatest strength is compassion and care in supporting our students' personal and academic growth. Our parents are the strength behind everything we do at RIS, whether it's reading with their child at home, supporting them at their choir performance or participating in our Parent Advisory council.
RIS's campus is a beautiful 28-acre WiFi enabled environment surrounded by tropical plants and fresh air, making one forget about the congestion and pollution of surrounding Bangkok. Air conditioned classrooms boast the latest tools to provide students with the best technologically supported learning possible. Meanwhile, state of the art athletic and performance spaces allow students the use of world class facilities that help to showcase their talents.
Instruction at RIS is in English. From Pre-School through 10th grade the curriculum is based on the best international practices utilizing well known standards and benchmarks. In grades 11 and 12 students are encouraged to enroll in Advanced Placement and/or IB full diploma courses based on which classes best support them and their future goals. All RIS students participate in a unique series of Values classes which focus on analyzing philosophies, cultures, religions, and the traditions of global societies, as well as encouraging the need to engage in community service activities.
As RIS was founded by Redemptorist Priests, the school community has always been particularly focused on how students, faculty, and families use their talents and status to support those in need. Whether it is one day service events, campus wide service oriented weeks, weekend trips, and/or independently created student projects, RIS has and always will remain focused on providing aid to those who are less fortunate.
With a handful of expatriate parishioners and local Thai students the Redemptorist priests opened RIS in 1957 with the intention of providing a quality Western education to its students. Nearly six decades later, Ruamrudee has grown into a community of nearly 1300 students, age 3 - 12th grade, pursuing academic and moral excellence within a multi-cultural environment. RIS offers a rigorous academic program utilizing an American enhanced curriculum that includes AP courses and the IB diploma in our high school.
Ruamrudee International School will be known globally as a hallmark of international education, nurturing intellectual development, moral character, and physical well-being, while fostering compassion through action and shaping the lives of tomorrow's leaders.
Ruamrudee International School is a Catholic school that provides an interfaith, inclusive, and academically rigorous education for students to be balanced, successful, and compassionate individuals.
