A message from Ms. Sarah Hanson, RIS MS & HS music teacher & choir director: “This semester has been unprecedented! Choir students had to start the semester singing alone. Submitting recordings for choir is not what choir is intended to be! Nonetheless, we have a choir program that’s growing at RIS—full of energy, excitement, and wonderful, wonderful people!
“It’s been such a joy to work with the students this semester! We were able to produce the ‘More to Me’ all-school assembly video earlier this year. We made a special project that inspired the younger classes in elementary school during Halloween. And now, with the students back on campus, they were able to throw together these performances for the community! Due to quarantining precautions, some performances are half the number of students that were supposed to be singing. They just did such a fabulous job all the way through, and I’m so proud of their accomplishments!
“Some of these songs were performed live to other areas of the campus during the last week of the semester. We were so excited about that! Some songs were started last year, and now we’re finally getting a chance to present them! I offered the chance for students to sing solos and play instruments, which they did so beautifully. I’m so proud of their bravery in doing that. We’ve had a wonderful semester, and I hope that they keep performing next semester! There’s so much potential in these groups. We’re glad you’re watching. Thank you! And enjoy!”
