Gino & Friends Represent Thailand at World Schools Debating Championships
Over the summer, Jirat (Gino) Chiaranaipanich (Class of 2025), proudly represented RIS as part of the Thai National Debate Team at the prestigious 2024 World Schools Debating Championships (WSDC). Competing against the best high school debaters worldwide, the team made history by breaking into the top 32—marking Thailand’s first outround appearance in eight years. With five wins in the preliminary rounds, including a notable victory against Australia, the team demonstrated exceptional skill and teamwork. Reflecting on his experience, Gino expressed his pride and commitment to mentoring the next generation of RIS debaters.

EcoWeave Home: RIS Students Turn Plastic Waste into Comfort for the Homeless
Ponpalat (Party) Vipattipumiprates, Thanathorn (Tem) Onraksa, Itthipat (Tun) Saipornchai, and Panyada (Fang) Leelaphatana, all from the Class of 2025, have been featured in The Bangkok Post for their innovative project, EcoWeave Home. The group transforms discarded plastic bags into soft sleeping mats, offering comfort to the homeless while reducing waste. They’ve already distributed 15 mats in Bangkok’s Phra Nakhon district and are inviting others to join their initiative through TikTok @ecoweavehome, making a meaningful impact on both the environment and the community.

Bene Joins Effort to Expand MUN Beyond the “Dek Inter” Bubble
Voranan (Bene) Puengchanchaikul (Co26), is part of BarrierMUN, an initiative recently featured in The Bangkok Post. This organization is working to make Model United Nations (MUN) more accessible to Thai students outside the international school community by addressing language, cost, and awareness barriers. Through ESL-friendly resources, lower fees, and free virtual training, BarrierMUN has reached nearly 400 students from 15 schools across Thailand, empowering them with essential skills like research, debate, and teamwork. Por Por Participates in IFMA Youth World Championships
Kitisit (Por Por) Thangsumphant (Co26) represented RIS Ruamrudee at the 2024 IFMA Youth World Championships, held in September at Paragon Hall. The event brought together over 3,000 young athletes from 93 countries, emphasizing the Olympic values of peace, solidarity, and inclusion. This year’s championship also marked His Majesty the King’s 72nd birthday, adding significance to the occasion.

Megan Spreads Joy at Charity Event in Sa Kaeo
Megan MacDonald (Co29), the winner of Next Universe Teenage 2023, attended a charity event at a child development center in Sa Kaeo Province. Sharing her birthday joy, Megan, along with her mother and supporters, donated funds and supplies to the center. The event was filled with smiles and happiness as the children returned home with unforgettable memories. Megan expressed her gratitude to everyone involved on her official Instagram for their warm welcome and generous contributions, which made the day special for the children and the community.

RIS Students Donate to Flood Relief Efforts
A group of RIS students, including Nabhat (Tod) Thurakitseree (Co25), Natprima (Wawa) Sae-Heng (Co27), Kemjira (Jira) Wawat (Co27), and Primasinee (Wern Wern) Sae-Heng donated rice, dry food, and essential items to the Good Deed Foundation to assist those affected by the flooding crisis. In a Facebook post, the foundation expressed its gratitude for the students’ generous contributions, which will help support flood victims in need. This thoughtful act of charity highlights the students’ commitment to giving back to the community and making a positive impact during difficult times.

Chane Recognized for Climate Innovation
Chane Jantarawaranyoo (Co25) was awarded Second Place in the Individual Category of the Youth Climate Innovators 2024 competition, an initiative promoting creative solutions to global warming. His project proposed an off-grid solar photovoltaic system that uses solar panels and battery storage to generate sustainable energy independently. Hosted by The Youth Fund and the Department of Climate Change and Environment, the competition highlighted young innovators tackling climate challenges, with Chane’s project standing out as a promising renewable energy solution.

Future of Good Life Lead Sustainable Farming Initiative
Sithsakorn (Marc) Jantrakul, alongside fellow Class of 2026 RIS students Phuwakrit (Ren) Wannakajornkit, Thanawin (Win) Ampornkotchakorn, and Rattavinat (Tonnam) Yuttayong, founded Future of Good Life, a project dedicated to promoting low-carbon rice farming in Thailand. Featured in The Bangkok Post and several Thai news articles, the initiative raises awareness of sustainable farming practices through educational seminars, workshops, and field visits with farmers. Marc’s team collaborates with professionals to enhance farming techniques and is developing an app to support farmers with data collection and analysis. Additionally, Marc is organizing a talk with an expert from Thailand Carbon Neutral to engage Bangkok students on the importance of sustainable agriculture. Jotun, Captain, & Max Shine at UNESCO Peace Conference 2024
Chalat (Jotun) Lertrattanachalki (Co26), Lertthan (Captain) Lertrattanachalki (Co31), and Chwin (Max) Chalitwongpatana (Co31) represented RIS at the UNESCO Peace Conference 2024 in Paris, France. Among a select group of ten youth representatives, the trio presented on the theme of Royal Patronage and Peace, sharing insights that reflected a deep understanding of unity and cross-cultural harmony. Their contributions highlighted the dedication of RIS students to global citizenship, exemplifying the school’s vision of fostering compassionate leaders prepared to shape a better world.

Sakulsurarat Brothers Shine at TGA Tournament
Pannapong (Toto) Sakulsurarat (Co30) and his brother Pongpipat (Tatar) Sakulsurarat (Co28) delivered standout performances at the November TGA Tournament. Toto displayed exceptional skill at Uniland Golf Course, finishing with a remarkable score of 69 on a par 72 course to claim the championship title. Meanwhile, Tatar competed fiercely in the AB Class, scoring 73 (+2) on a par 71 course during the first day of competition. Fresh off his participation in SEASAC Golf, Tatar remains focused and motivated to excel in the remaining rounds. The Sakulsurarat brothers’ achievements underscore their dedication and talent in competitive golf.

Khun Shines at World Scholar’s Cup Global and Final Rounds
Buddhidham (Khun) Pisutpaisal (Co31) achieved outstanding success in the 2024 World Scholar’s Cup. In September, he competed in the Global Round in Bangkok, advancing with his team to the Tournament of Champions in November at Yale University. Competing alongside 4,000 students from 35 countries, Khun earned multiple medals for his academic skills in debate, quiz bowl, and writing. At Yale, he continued to excel, winning one gold (Scholar’s Challenge) and four silver medals (Team Debate, Team Bowl, Debate Champions, and Top Teams), showcasing his dedication to academic excellence on the world stage.

Snidvongs na Ayudhya Siblings Shine in Music and Sports
Prasertpoj (Nam Ake) Snidvongs na Ayudhya (Co29), a skilled drummer and member of the RIS student rock band Protocol, demonstrated his musical talents by winning the Thailand National Youth Contest in November, earning the Drum Young Artist title for the Category 13 & Under. Earlier in the year, he also claimed a Silver Award at the Thailand Music Festival for Young Artists in the Electric Drums Under 15 Years Old category. His brother, Viranart (Nam Neung) Snidvongs na Ayudhya (Co26), showcased his athletic abilities by taking second place in the Thailand Premier Tennis League National Championship Series 22 Men’s in late November. Together, the brothers highlight the exceptional range of talent RIS students bring to both the arts and sports.

Priya Earns Gold Award and Royal Recognition
Priya Manophirom (Co34) has been awarded multiple gold awards in singing competitions. She was selected as the lead singer for a performance at the “Path to Enlightenment” project, alongside her sister, Eiyada Manophirom (Co37), who joined as a part of the choir. Both girls were honored to be part of a special performance of Buddhist songs, which received praise from His Majesty the King. The royal household invited Priya and Eiyada, along with their teachers and parents, to a ceremony at the Amphorn Sathan Residential Hall, where they were awarded scholarships and gifts, and had the opportunity to tour the palace. The sisters were deeply touched by the royal recognition, celebrating their achievements as students of RIS elementary school.

Cake & Fahsai Shine at Bambi Games Invitational Meet 2024
Kannussawan (Cake) Thienchairoj (Co33) and Napasorn (Fahsai) Deelertmongkolchai (Co33) recently competed in the Bambi Games Invitational Meet 2024, held in late November. Both athletes participated in the WAG Level 2 competition, which included four events: Vault, Bars, Beam, and Floor. The RIS elementary school duo performed exceptionally well, with Kannussawan securing gold in Vault, Bars, and Beam, while Napasorn earned a silver in Floor. Their impressive performances highlight their skill and dedication in the sport of gymnastics.

Gunn Vajirakachorn Receives Prestigious Diana Award
Thanakorn (Gunn) Vajirakachorn (Co25) has been honored with the 2024 Diana Award, the most prestigious accolade for young people aged 9–25 who demonstrate exceptional social action or humanitarian work. Gunn received the award for his inspiring work through Between The Roots (BTR), an initiative he founded to provide biogas balloons to rural communities in Thailand. These innovative balloons transform food waste into cooking gas and fertilizer, offering a sustainable alternative that reduces greenhouse gas emissions.
Gunn’s work extends beyond environmental innovation, incorporating a creative installment-based repayment model developed in collaboration with EXIM Bank to make these solutions financially accessible. His efforts have garnered global recognition and inspired young people across Thailand to take action for a sustainable future. This honor reflects his unwavering commitment to sustainability and social impact.

Earth Wins Gold at International Invention Expo
Puvit (Earth) Seetisarn (Co26) earned a Gold Medal for his innovative Eco Bridge design at the 2024 Kaohsiung International Invention & Design EXPO, held December 5–7 in Kaohsiung, Taiwan. His invention also received a Special Award from Hong Kong, recognizing its environmental impact and creative design. Earth’s Eco Bridge exemplifies sustainable engineering, showcasing his dedication to addressing global challenges through innovation. His achievements highlight the remarkable talent of RIS students and their contributions to creating a better future.

Jubu Triumphs at Princess’s Cup 2024
Natchinapha (Jubu) Rattanachotirat (Co25) represented Team Thailand in the prestigious Princess’s Cup 2024, competing in the CSIJ-B category. Riding her exceptional horse, Kaki De Gibet, and coached by Dhewin Manathanya, Jubu delivered a stellar performance to secure victory. Her dedication to the sport, coupled with strong teamwork, highlights the talent and perseverance that define RIS students. Congratulations to Jubu on this remarkable achievement in equestrian sports!

Ryo Clinches Thailand Super Eco Championship
Vongsapat (Ryo) Ketsiri (Co27) has capped off a phenomenal debut season in the 2024 Thailand Super Series by winning the Class C Plus championship title. At the season finale, held at the Chang International Circuit in Buriram, Ryo dominated Race 8, securing first place and maintaining top-three finishes throughout the event. His performance also earned him second place in the overall championship standings across all classes, solidifying his reputation as one of the series’ most promising young drivers.
Recognized as one of the “Top Five to Meet” by the Thailand Super Series, Ryo expressed gratitude to his family, sponsors, and team, including Kinik-Sales Thailand, Bangchak, Cusco Thailand, and Power Up by Phong, for their unwavering support. Reflecting on his first year of competitive racing, Ryo shared his excitement for the future: “This was more than I could ask for in my first year of racing. Stay tuned for next year!”

Prok Shines with Back-to-Back Pool Championships
Methapum (Prok) Sithayatam (Co30) continues to dominate the cue sports scene with another remarkable victory. On December 11–12, 2024, Prok competed in the Super High Roller Scotch Doubles Competition at Megabreak Pool Hall in Pattaya, triumphing over more than 120 players from 60 teams to secure the championship title. This success adds to his growing accolades, including earlier recognition for his skill and dedication.

Kaka Wins U20 Ice Hockey World Championship
Teepanatad (Kaka) Pataramasakul (Co25) played a key role in the U20 Thailand National Ice Hockey Team’s victory at the 2025 IIHF Ice Hockey U20 World Championship Division III Group B in Thailand. The team won all three of their games, defeating Luxembourg, Kyrgyzstan, and South Africa, and ultimately claimed the championship in their first-ever appearance at this level.
Kaka, a forward for the team, contributed to this historic win, which marks an important milestone for Thai ice hockey on the international stage. His involvement in the team’s success highlights both his individual talent and the growing recognition of ice hockey in Thailand.
