The ’21–’22 school year begins August 16. Read an update from the Head of School here.
Dear Elementary Students,
Keep logging your reading and reviewing those books this summer to help your grade level win those prizes and get those video games as you Level Up in the Summer Reading Program: A Universe of Stories!
This program is completely optional, and is the library’s way of motivating you to keep reading so you avoid the summer slide! In addition, this program has the added benefit of providing a way of connecting with your friends socially over the summer, and is a great way to keep in touch!
Last week, every student had an orientation to the Summer Reading Program where they practiced logging in, and brought home a letter with their personal username and password. For most students, this is their nickname. For 3rd grade+ their password is their student ID#; for PK-2nd, it’s the last 3 numbers of their ID#. If you didn’t get it, you lost it, or yours doesn’t work, please email me ASAP so I can get you your username/password: firstname.lastname@example.org
Remember, you can count audiobooks, being read to, paper books and ebooks you get from ANYwhere (they don’t just have to be RIS books)! Also, there’s fabulous FREE ebooks included in the Summer Reading Program link on the right-hand side after you login! Here is a 2-minute tutorial if you’re having trouble using the program

1st Place: The grade level that writes the most book reviews will win a button-making party where they can design their own buttons!
2nd Place: The grade level that writes the 2nd most book reviews will win a popsicle party!
The top 3 students who write the most book reviews will be recognized at ES Assembly, and receive a special prize from me, the librarian!
Happy Summer Reading!
