New Campus Launches in 2022 –

Ruamrudee International School (RIS), established in 1957, celebrates 65 years in education with the launch of RIS Phuket in 2022. The project is led by Khun Jetana Kitcharoen and Khun Patcharamat Warachit, the CEOs of Brain Education Service, Company Ltd., who are also the team behind the launch of the RIS Early Years Campus on Phraya Suren Road. Khun Jetana and Khun Patcharamat are also, respectively, the School Manager and School Licensee for RIS Early Years.

RIS Phuket will mark Ruamrudee’s fourth overall campus in Thailand in just a few years. The main RIS campus moved from its original location in downtown Bangkok to the city outskirts of Minburi in 1992. RIS Ratchapruek was established in Nonthaburi in 2019, followed by RIS Early Years in 2020 in the district of Khlong Sam Wa.

Members of the Redemptorist Foundation of Thailand, including RIS School Licensee Fr. Dr. Michael Picharn Jaiseri, C.Ss.R., RIS School Director Fr. Jittapol Plangklang, C.Ss.R., Fr. Yuthana Sriprapha, C.Ss.R., Fr. Puwanai Tantikun, C.Ss.R., and Fr. Prud Thipthong, C.Ss.R., joined the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with representatives from Brain Education Service at Griffith Library, RIS Minburi, in September 2021.

The MOU formalizes an academic partnership that provides a collaborative framework for the establishment of RIS Phuket. RIS Phuket aims to launch in August 2022, primarily focusing on playgroups and early childhood education, and plans to expand to Pre-K to 12 in future years.

Also present at the MOU signing were RIS Head of School Dr. Jim O’Malley, RIS School Manager Mr. Piyapong Siriviriyanun, RIS Early Years Assistant Principal Ms. Karen Page, Br. Montri Onthale, and Mr. Amornyod Panich.
