RIS Choir Students at AMIS

Earlier in March, RIS high school choir students Maijene Dueansong (Class of 26), Ahya Angeles-Ahmed (Co27), and Natacha Chindapol (Co27) were invited to the prestigious Asian Honour Choir Concert, hosted by the Association of Music in International Schools (AMIS), in Seoul, South Korea! 🎶

The Choir Festival is an exclusive opportunity for students to pursue enriching experiences beyond school, fulfill their passions, and improve their craft. The concert was an incredible three-day celebration of intense rehearsal and a collaborative focus on choral artistry and musicianship in its highest form. Students came from 20 international schools from all over Asia. They had the opportunity to work on high-end repertoire with internationally renowned conductor and choral clinician Dr Jeffrey Allen Murdock from the University of Arkansas. Through a demanding pace, our musical ambassadors impressed with incredible focus and grace.

While the festival deepened their love and appreciation for music, our girls also enjoyed having a unique, multicultural, and positive experience in Seoul. The city was crisp and inviting. Accompanied by their choir teacher, Ms. Jenn Forsland, and Assistant Principal, Ms. Kate Culbert, the group found the time to enjoy Korean culture, including food and some shopping.

Congratulations to Maijene, Ahya, and Natacha on this prestigious opportunity to pursue their passions! 👏👏👏  They not only represented RIS as members of a select, high-level ensemble but also all of Thailand! 🇹🇭  Special bonds were made through the music, and new friendships blossomed with other passionate and dedicated singers.
