SEASAC Wrap-Up: Season 2 Sports 2024–2025
From February 6–9, 2025, RIS Ruamrudee athletes once again showcased their competitive spirit, skill, and resilience on the international stage at SEASAC. Competing in basketball, tennis, and rugby, the Phoenix demonstrated unwavering determination and sportsmanship. Here’s a recap of the latest achievements:

Varsity Girls Basketball – SEASAC Division 2
MVP: Benyapa Thongduang (DJ)
Competing at British School Jakarta (BSJ) in Indonesia, the RIS Varsity Girls Basketball team delivered an outstanding tournament performance. They finished the group stage undefeated, securing a crucial quarterfinal win against International School of Yangon (ISY) with a commanding 42-18 victory. In a dramatic final, they fought hard against GIS, with Pan (Grade 11) sinking a clutch three-pointer to send the game into overtime. Despite their valiant effort, the team finished as SEASAC Runners-Up, narrowly losing 38-37 in an unforgettable championship match. The team also earned the SEASAC Team Sportsmanship Award.
Varsity Boys Basketball – SEASAC Division 1
MVP: Prom Kotepetch (Nikki)
At UWC South East Asia (Dover Campus) in Singapore, the RIS Varsity Boys Basketball team started strong, defeating SAIS 57-49 in their opening game. However, they faced a heartbreaking loss in the quarterfinals against SSIS, which moved them into the Plate Semifinals. Despite their determination, they finished the tournament in 8th place. Their sportsmanship and teamwork were recognized with the SEASAC Team Sportsmanship Award.

MVP: Chann Fongsrisin (Chanon)
RIS athletes took to the field at Tanglin Trust School (TTS) in Singapore, competing fiercely in a challenging tournament. The boys finished their pool games with a tough loss against AIS (34-0) and played their final SEASAC match the following morning. Their efforts earned them 6th place overall and the prestigious SEASAC Team Sportsmanship Award, a testament to their perseverance and character throughout the competition.
A special moment occurred during the tournament when NIST International School, missing several team members, had to concede a match. Instead of sitting out, RIS players stepped up, with five athletes joining NIST’s squad for a friendly match. This act of camaraderie exemplified the spirit of SEASAC and inter-school sportsmanship.
SEASAC Division 2 Tennis
MVPs: Priya Hirunchupong (Girls), Viranart Snidvongs Na Ayudhya (Nam Nueng) (Boys)
Held at Garden International School (GIS) in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, both the boys and girls tennis teams faced stiff competition. The girls showed resilience, bouncing back from an early loss to HIS (2-3) with a dominant 4-1 victory over TTS. Both teams advanced to the Plate Semifinals against MKIS but ultimately finished in 6th place. However, their dedication and sportsmanship did not go unnoticed, as the Girls Tennis team was awarded the SEASAC Team Sportsmanship Award.

The RIS Phoenix wrapped up SEASAC Season 2 Sports 2024–2025 with remarkable performances, thrilling victories, and invaluable experiences.
