Season 1 SPORTS 2024–2025: SEASAC Wrap-up
RIS Ruamrudee’s athletes shone brightly as they participated in the SEASAC Football, Volleyball, Golf, and Cross Country games in November 2024. Their hard work, resilience, and sportsmanship exemplified Phoenix pride! Here’s a recap of their remarkable achievements:
FOOTBALL
Boys Football – 5th Place (Plate Winners) and Sportsmanship Award
The Boys’ Varsity Football team delivered a stellar performance, finishing with four wins, one draw, and just one loss (through a penalty shootout). Although the tournament’s knockout format placed them in fifth place, they clinched the Plate Trophy and the Sportsmanship Award, a testament to their skill and character. The team is already setting its sights on gold for next year.
Girls Football – 7th Place
The Girls Varsity Football team, one of the youngest squads in the competition, showed immense promise with two wins and four losses. Their thrilling final-game victory capped off a weekend of growth and determination, paving the way for a bright future.
VOLLEYBALL
Boys Volleyball – 4th Place
The Boys Varsity Volleyball team had an outstanding tournament in Singapore despite an early setback when their star libero, Ponpalat (Party) Vipattipumiprates (Class of 2025), was injured in the opening minutes. The team remained undefeated on the first day without dropping a set. Unfortunately, they fell to the eventual champions, SAIS, in the semifinals and narrowly missed the bronze medal, losing 3-1 to Harrow International School. The boys’ determination and teamwork were commendable throughout.
Girls Volleyball – 5th Place (Plate Winners)
The young Girls Varsity Volleyball team showcased their potential in Vietnam by finishing with a solid 3-3 record. They dominated the host school, Saigon South International School, in their final game, winning 3-1 to secure 5th place and the Plate Trophy. With no seniors on the roster, this team is eager to return even stronger next year.
GOLF
Boys Golf Team – 3rd Place
The Boys Golf team proved to be one of the strongest contenders at the SEASAC Championships in Malaysia, earning the 3rd Place Trophy out of the 15 competing schools. Congratulations to Vichayut (Porsche) Sudsawasdi (Co25), Jasper Low (Co28), Chann Fongsrisin (Co25), Pongpipat (Tatar) Sakulsurarat (Co28), Thanakorn (Gunn) Vajirakachorn (Co25), and Dham (Jap) Jiracharnchaisiri (Co26) for their impressive performance. Be sure to congratulate these talented athletes when seen around campus!
Girls Individual Golf – 4th Place
Wariya (View) Turongkinanon (Co25) represented RIS with pride, finishing just two strokes shy of a medal to secure 4th place in the individual event. Her poise and focus throughout the competition were exemplary.
CROSS COUNTRY
The Cross Country team braved a challenging five-kilometer course in Malaysia filled with wet and wild conditions, achieving personal bests (PBs) in both the individual and relay events. Despite the rough terrain (which claimed several competitors’ shoes), the athletes’ perseverance and dedication stood out, making the Phoenix spirit soar.
