2025-2026 School Year

RIS Ruamrudee International School is dedicated to nurturing intellectual growth, moral character, and physical well-being in its students. This roundup showcases the diverse achievements of RIS students, who excel academically, artistically, athletically, and through acts of compassion. AUGUST 2025

Seoyoon Earns First Place in Bangkok International Youth Music Competition

Seoyoon Bong (Class of 2028) earned first place in the Cello Solo, Classical, Junior Class A category at the final round of the Bangkok International Youth Music Competition. Following a postponement of the competition, Seoyoon completed the final round online while she was in Korea, with permission from the organizers.

Seoyoon received a score of 88.5 out of 100, including 31.5 points for technique, 31.5 for musical interpretation, and 25.5 for individuality and artistic expression. Her awards included a championship trophy, gold medal, and certificate.

AUGUST 2025

Mano Wins Coding Gold at Thailand Innovative Competition

Kantanat (Mano) Chalothornpiset (Class of 2030) earned the Winner Gold Prize in Computer Program Design at the Thailand Innovative Competition 2025, held on August 3, 2025.

Competing individually in the ages 13–15 category, Mano designed a game in Python, demonstrating both programming knowledge and creative problem-solving.

AUGUST 2025

Bene Receives EARCOS Global Citizenship Award

Voranan (Bene) Puengchanchaikul (Class of 2026) was selected as RIS’s recipient of the EARCOS Global Citizenship Award for the 2024–2025 academic year.

The award recognizes a student who demonstrates global awareness, intercultural respect, collaboration, service, leadership, and strong academic standing. Bene was honored for her informed engagement with global issues, compassionate leadership, and commitment to strengthening communities across differences.

SEPTEMBER 2025

PJ Earns Gold and Advances to European Music Competition Final

Peejakorn (PJ) Thawinkarn (Class of 2032) earned a Gold Award in the Piano Grade 5 preliminary category of the International European Music Competition. PJ was subsequently selected to represent Thailand in the competition’s final round in Hamburg, Germany.

Mavie Completes Spartan Kids Race

Mavie Lily Mackenzie (Mavie) Baker (Class of 2035) completed the 1.6-kilometer Spartan Kids race, navigating more than a dozen obstacles in under eight minutes.

Archive 26 Shares Its Service Work at CentralWorld

Archive 26, a six-member Grade 12 student band, performed and spoke about its youth volunteer work at an exhibition presenting the community-service initiatives of Thailand’s National Defence College Class 67. The event was held at CentralWorld on September 9, 2025.

OCTOBER 2025

Nammon Wins Mini Proud Thailand Title

Thitipa (Nammon) Sirikul (Class of 2030) received Best Young Award at the Mini Proud Thailand 2025 final, held on October 19, 2025, at Chaeng Watthana Hall in Bangkok.

The national youth competition brought together representatives connected with Thailand’s 77 provinces and selected winners to advance to Mini Proud International 2025 in Laos.

Priya Presents Jollipals Volunteer Initiative on Television

Priya Hirunchupong (Class of 2027) appeared on Top News to present Jollipals, a social enterprise that provides comforting teddy bears to children in Thailand experiencing post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD). Through its “Buy One, Give One” model, every bear purchased helps provide another to a child in need.

Paulene Wins Two Gold Medals at NEO Science Olympiad

Paradee (Paulene) Chalothorn (Class of 2030) earned gold medals in both mathematics and science at the NEO Science Olympiad 2025. Her results qualified her for the grand final in Florida, United States.

NOVEMBER 2025

Ryo Receives Royal Trophy Following PT Maxnitron Championship

Vongsapat (Ryo) Ketsiri (Class of 2027) received the royal trophy bestowed by Her Royal Highness Princess Maha Chakri Sirindhorn after winning the 2025 overall championship in the Siam Group N category of the PT Maxnitron Racing Series.

Ryo competed with Idemitsu Racing Team Thailand by AP x BKC. The recognition marked the culmination of his 2025 racing season. 

DECEMBER 2025

Kin Earns Top Placements in National Equestrian Competitions

Naphak (Kin) Techaphantukul (Class of 2033) achieved top results in two equestrian competitions at the Royal Horse Guard in Bangkok. At the FEI Jumping World Challenge 2025, Kin earned first place with the 80-centimeter team and second place in the 90-centimeter competition.

Kin also placed second overall in the three-day Bronze Tour at the Princess’s Cup Thailand 2025, held from December 26–28.

Neal Earns Bronze in International Mathematics Competition

Purachet (Neal) Sikkares (Class of 2031) earned a bronze award at The 61st World Olympiad Math Competition.

DECEMBER 2025

Jaytin Represents Thailand at International Robotics Competitions

Lakkawin (Jaytin) Reuangronglakkhana (Class of 2028) represented Thailand at two international robotics events in 2025. In August, he participated in the World Robot Challenge in Beijing, China, followed by the All Japan Robot-Sumo Tournament final at Ryogoku Kokugikan in Tokyo on December 6–7.

These opportunities allowed Jaytin to apply his engineering and robotics skills while competing alongside participants from around the world.

JANUARY 2026

August Excels in International Academic Competitions

Pakin (August) Luechar (Class of 2032) achieved strong results in two international academic competitions during the 2025–2026 school year. At the World Scholar’s Cup Tournament of Champions at Yale University, August placed eighth among Individual Alpaca Scholars in the Junior Division. He also earned gold medals as an Individual Alpaca Scholar and Individual Debater, as well as a team debate gold alongside students from Shrewsbury International School and Brighton College Bangkok.

August later received a Gold Award in Paper C of the Southeast Asian Mathematical Olympiad (SEAMO) 2025, ranking first in Thailand. This result qualified him for SEAMO X 2026, the competition’s global round, held in Bali, Indonesia, from January 16–19, 2026.

His accomplishments across debate, interdisciplinary learning, and mathematics reflect both his academic versatility and his commitment to sustained preparation.

FEBRUARY 2026

RIS Debaters Earn National Recognition at THSDC

Dhan Janyasakulwong (Class of 2028), Nithcha Chiaranaipanich (Class of 2030), and Sarisa (Melody) Lowe (Class of 2030) finished as novice finalists at the Thailand High School Debating Championship 2025, placing second in the division.

A second RIS team advanced to the open quarterfinals. Yujun (Ethan) Sung (Class of 2027) was named 10th Best Speaker; Peter Dunne (Class of 2027) was fourth Best Novice Speaker; and Phoom Pumipitak (Class of 2027) was 13th Best Speaker and seventh Best Reply Speaker. [Need the name and class year of the RIS student who was selected to adjudicate the grand final and received second Best Adjudicator; confirm the official event name, date, and venue.

MARCH 2026

Patrick Helps Greater Bay Lions Win Bell Capital Cup

Arshawin (Patrick) Kongma ([Class year needed]) helped the Greater Bay Lions win the U12 AA division at the Bell Capital Cup in Ottawa, Canada, held from December 29–31, 2025.

Patrick recorded 10 points and three assists during the tournament. The championship game was played at Canadian Tire Centre, home of the National Hockey League’s Ottawa Senators.

MARCH 2026

Nippon and Prem Represent Thai Youth at World Harmony Conference

Sirikalaya (Nippon) Lertrattanachaikij (Class of 2028) and Akarapat (Prem) Nawatrilap (Class of 2028) joined a Thai youth delegation at the International Conference for World Harmony, held at UNESCO Headquarters in Paris from March 8–10, 2026.

The conference focused on ‘The Role of Women in Promoting Peace’ and brought together policymakers, scholars, religious leaders, and youth representatives for discussions on peacebuilding, education, and cross-cultural cooperation.

MARCH 2026

RIS Innovators Earn Gold and Silver Medals in Geneva

RIS student researchers earned awards for three projects at the 51st International Exhibition of Inventions Geneva, held at Palexpo in Switzerland from March 11–15, 2026. The exhibition presented more than 1,000 inventions from 35 countries and regions.

Nutvarit (Gain) Manorotchaturong (Class of 2027) and Yujun (Ethan) Sung (Class of 2027) received a gold medal, a special award from the Taiwan Invention Association, and an honorable mention for MangiCare, a hydrogel wound dressing using mangiferin-loaded nanoparticles.

Vichapol (Rocco) Prasattongosoth (Class of 2027) earned a silver medal and a special award from Thailand’s National Research Council for an alcohol-free antibacterial spray using silver nanoparticles. Weeranda (Wanda) Kiatlertpongsa (Class of 2028) and Tarawin (Win) Soonly Kiatlertpongsa (Class of 2026) received a silver medal and an honorable mention for NEPPY, a catnip-derived mosquito repellent designed for toddlers.

APRIL 2026

Thann Performs for Their Majesties at Lumphini Park Centenary

Wanichpol (Thann) Hattagam (Class of 2034) was selected as one of four young violinists from three international schools to perform at the ‘100 Years of Lumphini Park’ event.

Thann and the ensemble performed Handel’s ‘The Arrival of the Queen of Sheba’ to welcome Their Majesties the King and Queen of Thailand. 

MAY 2026

Selena Places Second in Junior Golf Series

Selena Matta (Class of 2036) placed second in Class F at the Junior Golf Series First Stage Tour.

JUNE 2026

Nonn Wins National Interscholastic Fencing Gold

Chavit (Nonn) Uchupalanun (Class of 2028) won a gold medal while representing RIS in the 2026 interscholastic fencing competition organized by Thailand’s Department of Physical Education.

The national event brought together school competitors from across Thailand.
